Ready to move in, dream location

Long-time local, Chris Twiss, on what set Oneoneroa apart from the rest

Chris Twiss is no stranger to the North Shore. Having lived on the Devonport peninsula for over 20 years he wanted a low maintenance home in the same great location he had come to know and love.

When Chris found Oneoneroa, it ticked all of his boxes and he purchased his three-bedroom family home for himself and teenage daughter, Ella, who attends nearby Takapuna Grammar. The third room is for his son, who will return for home visits from university.

Once in a lifetime opportunity

One of Oneoneroa’s biggest attractions for Chris was the new community that would come with his new home. He is especially keen to see a creative and dynamic community emerge.

“I am very excited to watch this new development unfold over the next few years. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of a brand-new community that blends together old and new for something distinctly unique in Tāmaki Makaurau,” says Chris.

Different developers

As the CEO of the I Have a Dream Charitable Trust, Chris spends a great deal of time delivering positive outcomes for Kiwi kids and whānau.

His work across communities has seen him develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for Te Ao Māori (the Māori worldview) and values which he instantly recognised in the Oneoneroa development.

“I immediately had more confidence in the ownership of the development when I realised it was hapū led because there’s more trust in the kaupapa and stewardship you might not find anywhere else.

“I also appreciate the linkages to the sea in the name, which adds historical perspective and further embeds the Māori values. This is not your average development. You can trust that the connection to the land and the sea will remain deeply ingrained,” adds Chris.

No anxiety

Having lived in many homes across the Devonport peninsula, Cheltenham and Hauraki Corner, Chris was determined to find a home that didn’t need attention or time on the tools.

“Moving into a brand-new home is great. There was a distinct lack of anxiety about things that need fixing that you’d find moving into older houses. Location wise it is a big tick and a stunning site,” says Chris.

Here’s your opportunity to be part of this exciting, new community with two 3-bedroom homes and two 4-bedroom homes available to purchase off the plans.
