Kōrero with Dave Blyth

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Blyth as the new Te Tōangaroa Portfolio Manager. Given the significance of Te Tōangaroa, the iwi’s single largest commercial asset, and the plans for reinvigorating the precinct, we are excited to have someone with Dave’s experience join our property team.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Dave moved to Aotearoa when he was three and has lived in Tāmaki Makaurau for most of his life. Outside of work, Dave enjoys spending time with his wife and three children adventuring at the beach and in the mountains.

Dave brings more than twenty years of experience in the property industry, including banking (property team), funds management and development.  He has joined us after previously working at Willis Bond for 10 years. Dave was involved in the Wynyard Quarter development which saw the transformation of what was a rather unwelcoming area to a thriving and vibrant community, a project he is proud to have been involved in.

Dave says he is pleased to join Whai Rawa and is excited about the opportunities for Te Tōangaroa and to enhance the commercial return for Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.

“Property is all about people and creating places where communities can flourish. Te Tōangaroa is already a community, but there is opportunity to improve the area for those that call the precinct home, work in the area or who visit and enjoy what is on offer. “

Dave bolsters the Te Tōangaroa team alongside Property Manager Stephen Loizou who will play a key role in establishing the precinct as a destination and thriving community.

In the coming months, we will be launching the Te Tōangaroa website and its new visual identity which was grounded on kōrero from Ropata Paora and a kāhui of our Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei creatives.
