Inaugural scholarship launched, Taku Taunga

We are proud to launch our Taku Taunga Property & Business Scholarship. Aimed at growing the capability within the iwi in the property and business fields, Taku Taunga is an outcome of our joint venture partnership with property industry leaders Precinct Properties.

About the scholarship

The purpose of Taku Taunga scholarship is to encourage and support ākonga who are from Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei to pursue a property or business-related tertiary qualification.

The ingoa, Taku Taunga, was gifted by one of our reo experts, Ropata Paora. Taku Taunga means my anchorage and serves as a constant reminder for recipients as they ascend in Te Ao Pakihi that they can feel grounded and secure in the foundational knowledge and wisdom of their tupuna.
